A suggestion is Pantaray telling you what it thinks is worth doing next. It arrives on its own,
based on what it has seen you doing.

## Where suggestions appear

A suggestion appears as a small panel in the top-right corner of your screen, over whatever you
are working in. If more than one is waiting, they stack.

They are not macOS notifications, so they will not appear in Notification Center or be affected by
Focus modes.

## How often they come

From the recording, Pantaray keeps track of what you are working on now, what is still open on your
to-do list, and where the work seems to be heading. It suggests something when it judges the
interruption worth it, and quiet stretches with no suggestion are normal.

Suggestions come at most **once every fifteen minutes**, and that gap holds even if you quit and
reopen the app.

## What you can do with one

| Button | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Accept** | Starts the work. See [Hand work to Pantaray](/using/actions). |
| **Dismiss** | Declines it. It stays in your history, marked as dismissed. |
| **Additional instructions (optional)** | Opens a box to add conditions before you accept, up to 8,000 characters. |
| **Reply to this suggestion** | For a suggestion that is just telling you something, replies as a normal conversation. |
| **Hide Notification** | Puts the panel away without deciding. Nothing changes; it is still in your history. |

**Dismiss** is an answer, and Pantaray takes it into account. **Hide Notification** only clears your
screen.

## When suggestions stop

Suggestions stop when recording is off. **Settings → Computer activity recording** says so
directly: *Suggestions are paused too*.

They also stop when macOS permissions are missing. See [macOS permissions](/privacy/permissions).

## If you are not getting any

- Check that recording is **Active** in **Settings → Computer activity recording**.
- Check **Settings → AI connection**. If **Current route** reads **Not set up**, Pantaray has no AI
  to think with.
- Give it time. Fifteen minutes is the minimum gap, not the schedule.
- Check your recording filter. If it is set to record only a short list of apps, Pantaray sees
