Web search during an Action is handled by [Tavily](https://tavily.com/). It is optional. Without a
key, Pantaray still records, suggests, remembers, and runs Actions; only the search tools are
unavailable.

## Add a Tavily key

1. Create an API key at [tavily.com](https://tavily.com/). Keys begin with `tvly-`.
2. Open **Settings → AI connection** and scroll to **Web search**.
3. Paste the key into **Tavily API key** and press **Save**.

The **Web search** row under **Current route** should now show **Tavily**.

## What gets sent to Tavily

Only the search itself: the words the Action is looking for, or the address of a page it wants to
read. Nothing Pantaray recorded about your activity is sent to Tavily.

## Replacing or removing the key

**Replace** swaps in a new key; **Remove** deletes it. Pantaray shows only **Saved on this Mac**
and never displays the key itself.

Changing the key stops any Action that is running. Continue it in your next message.
